The plug load control system is integrated with occupancy/vacancy sensors that detect human presence within an area.
This step-by-step configuration process demonstrates how to create a Group, add the Plug Load Controller and Sensor, and define sensor-based behaviors that automate power delivery. When presence is detected, connected devices are energized to support occupant activity. Upon vacancy, the system intelligently deactivates plug loads after a specified delay, minimizing standby power waste without compromising user experience.
1. Create a new Group
- Navigate to the ‘Groups’ tab as shown in the image.
- Click on the ‘+’ (Add) icon to create a new Group.
- Enter a desired name for the Group.
2. Add the Plug Load Controller
- Select the 'Settings' icon next to the Group
Tap the ‘Add Device’ icon to add a Plug Load Controller to the Group
3. Add a Sensor to the Group
- Click on the
(Add Sensor) icon to include the required sensor in the Group.
4. Selecting the Sensor element
- Set the sensor mode as Motion
- Select the ‘+’ sign adjacent to Motion sensor
5. Configure Motion sensor in a Group
(This helps to turn ON load during occupancy detection and turn OFF during vacancy etc )
- Go to the 'Groups' tab
- Click on the
icon of the Group that should respond to the motion sensor triggers
- Click on 'Group Automation Settings'
- Click on the 'Motion sensor settings' option and Select sensor activation period In order to activate the sensor within the specified time frame
- Select the Sensor activation period – Period 1
- In the Motion sensor settings page, select the
icon to adjust the time
‘When someone arrives': Defines the action to be performed when presence is detected
- Click on the
icon and slide the intensity bar to 100%
- Click on the 'Ok' button to save the changes
'When everybody leaves': Defines the action to be performed when absence is detected
- Configure the time duration for which the group should remain in the state configured for 'When someone arrives'
- Click on the
icon and slide the intensity bar to 0% on detecting absence
- Click on the 'Ok' button to save the changes
- Then Defines the action to be performed later
- Let the option remain disabled
The Group is now set up, ensuring automated and efficient plug load control based on Motion Sensing.
