Things to do
- Ensure that the building hierarchy is properly set before commissioning the devices. Lumos Controls enables devices to be divided among Buildings, Floors, and Zones.
- Before commissioning the device, select the Zone. Note that the devices cannot be changed from one Zone to another.
- In the app, Zone is a unique entity. Note that the devices commissioned in a Zone can communicate only with other devices in the same Zone.
- Ensure that you are using the latest version of the iOS or Android mobile app and the devices are updated to the latest firmware version.
- Install one Gateway in each Zone. Gateway is required to do remote operations, set sensor activation periods and run schedules.
Other points to keep in mind
- We recommend to keep the number of light devices to be controlled by a Switch to 40. Also, these devices need to be placed within a range of 15 - 20 meters from each other in indoor installations.
- If there are more than 1000 devices in an account, the mobile app takes up to 15 minutes to completely load the Devices, Groups, Scenes, Schedules etc, when logging in for the first time.
- It is recommended to use a single Phone for commissioning and configuration of devices in a particular Zone. This helps to avoid multiple sync attempts to the Cloud.
- Bulk Commissioning: The application support bulk commissioning of up to 30 devices in one go.
- While creating / deleting / editing Groups, Scenes, Schedules etc, please be within BLE range of the related control devices.
